“I started out in a country office helping business owners with bookkeeping, accounting, and tax advisory, primarily working with those in the construction industry.

Seeking a change, I then worked in Newcastle NSW, helping individuals and small business owners obtain home loans and asset finance, rounding out my tax experience with practical lending knowledge.

Now based in South Melbourne, I enjoy helping clients across the country think beyond tax to improve their businesses and take home what they deserve.

I wear T-shirts whenever possible, like good company and cheap travel, and believe that an accountant should do more than tally up last year’s figures. I’m interested in next year’s problems, and helping you solve them.”

We live by our values and love working with owners who live by theirs. We know we aren’t for everyone, but if you’re tired of the same results and want to work with someone passionate, straight forward, and genuinely excited about your success, we may just be what you’re looking for.

our values.

#1 - Big on Communication

First and foremost, we are big on communication and believe in actually talking with our clients, not just sending emails and reports. We want to understand what’s happening behind the scenes in your business, because while the numbers tell a story, they rarely tell the whole one.

We also strive to ensure our clients actually understand what we’re talking about. Too many business owners are left nodding along to conversations with their accountant without really understanding what’s being said. We use straightforward language, visual aids, and practical examples to explain complex topics in a way that’s clear and useful.

By extension, we also believe clear, honest communication is essential for success. Problems rarely start big - they grow when things go unsaid. We’d much rather talk things through early, even when it’s uncomfortable, than let small issues turn into expensive ones.

We don’t charge for talking on the phone because we actually want to talk to you. Whatever you need, give us a call, we’ll do the same.

#2 - Commercial, Not Corporate

Secondly, we are not a big firm, and we don’t try to act like one. Many of the business owners we work with come to us after poor experiences with larger firms: understaffed teams, slow responses, and files being handed from one accountant to another every couple of years. We offer the opposite: a consistent point of contact, direct access, and a relationship built on familiarity and trust.

We also don’t just advise business owners – we are business owners. Plenty of accountants can prepare a set of financials or lodge a tax return, but many have never actually started, grown, or operated a business themselves. Any business owner knows there’s a real difference between doing the technical work and carrying the responsibility, risk, and decision-making that comes with running a business day to day.

That perspective shapes how we work. We think beyond compliance and technical correctness, and focus on how decisions affect your time, stress levels, cash flow, and long-term outcomes – because we’re navigating those same considerations in our own business.

Praise from our clients.
